Kate Marshall was elected State Treasurer in 2006 and reelected in 2010. In her time since taking office, Kate has implemented her Marshall Plan to improve and implement programs that will save taxpayer dollars; reduce spending by becoming more efficient; and identify innovative methods for increasing economic development in our state. Kate administered the Nevada College Savings Plans, Nevada Prepaid Tuition, and Governor Guinn Millennium Scholarship programs by increasing participation by Nevada families in these college savings programs through better fiscal management, expanded outreach campaign, and by developing programs aimed at helping Nevada students achieve the dream of a college education. Kate has also modernized the Unclaimed Property Division and has significant collection and claims paid to rightful owners.
